grape juice the easy way

You will need some canning knowledge and equipment for this, but it is very basic otherwise.

Fill sterilized jars or bottles half way with grapes
Add 1 tablespoon of sweetener of your choice (In this case xylitol though I have also used rapadura with success)
Fill with boiling water
Process in hot water bath for 10 minutes, adjusting for altitude
Let sit for 2-4 weeks before using, if you can!

The colour is so pretty and will vary depending on the type of grapes you use.

And, of course repetitive labelling is perfect practice for an emergent reader & writer!

  1. What a lovely idea! I've got a little girl who loves her juice, and grapes are so cheap right now down here, so.... will have to give it a try.

    1. Aren't they so cheap at the moment?! I made at least 20 bottles out of 3kg of grapes :)

  2. Wow, what a good idea! I have made it the "regular" way and it was delicious... and TONS of work for a tiny bit of juice. sigh. This sounds like a good idea.

    1. You will not regret it! And the grapes are still fine as well! To throw into some muffins etc :)
